Prof. Dr. Sharmila J. Dua is the Dean (Academics) at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) visited the IIAD campus.
While looking at the exhibition the students had showcased, she found that what was most interesting was how each student had started from a point in their own journey at IIAD and then using this as an inspiration, had taken it forward to design a collection. This imbued their design projects with a uniqueness that often gets lost in trying to mimic mainstream trends. In this regard, she felt that the faculty and teaching and learning process at IIAD equipped the students to explore their individuality and inner creativity.
The amalgamation of every kind of skill that a Fashion Design student needs to know - from understanding materials, pattern-making to constructing and designing costumes is what she found particularly impressive in the Denim Project Display. She encouraged the students to continue taking inspiration from within themselves and expressing it in their garments.
