Observation + Visualisation + Representation + Idea Development + Realisation + Experimentation + iteration + Visual + 3D design
Design Bootcamp starts with an opportunity to explore a methodical creative process to come up with a theme based visual or 3D design reflecting their individuality. Under the guidance of mentor/s, students work individually on a carefully crafted project to interpret a theme, followed by a step by step process to transform initial sketches into final outcomes such as graphics, 3D form and wearable accessory, to name a few, using media and material of their choice.
On completion of the module students will catalog their work into a professional portfolio format. This will include the final design outcomes along with the processes they have followed.
Teaching Methods : Project Work, Tutorials, Peer-Feedback, Independent Study, Presentation & Critique of work
Design Thinking + Inquiry & investigation + Idea Generation & Evaluation + Creative & Critical Thinking + Collaborative Problem Solving
The second project of Design Bootcamp is based on the Design Sprint process for providing human centered solutions to design problems. Students work collaboratively in a team to apply design thinking to tackle a given challenge from their immediate environment. They will undertake a step-by-step process to map out challenges, explore solutions, pick the best ones, create a quick prototype for testing and arrive at a solution that can have a positive social impact. The project therefore introduces them to the wider application of design as an approach to problem solving.
Design Sprint culminates with every team presenting their design proposal to a panel of industry experts; this forms the finale for our Design Bootcamp.
Teaching Methods : Collaborative Group Projects, Mentoring, Independent Study, Discussions, Presentation & Critique of work
