Fashion business management equips you to respond to these new realities by combining the study of fashion with an in-depth understanding of retail operations, supply chain, consumer behaviour, market trends and brand promotion.

In the first year of the Fashion Business Management programme, students begin with a foundational exploration crucial for understanding the intricacies of the fashion industry. The curriculum also focusses on developing essential soft skills, including effective business communication and proficiency in data visualisation. The aim is to build a strong theoretical foundation and cultivate core competencies, setting the stage for more advanced studies in subsequent years.

In the second year, students deepen their understanding and explore specialised areas within Fashion Business Management. The curriculum includes exploration of topics such as fashion brand management, garment manufacturing technology and systems, various types of fabrics and weaves, production processes and quality control, digital marketing strategies tailored for fashion brands and analysis of current fashion trends. Practical projects, industry case studies and internships provide opportunities for students to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios and gain valuable industry experience.

As the year culminates, students are encouraged to engage in an 8-week Learn On-Site internship. This first industry interface must focus on imparting practical experience in the Indian fashion industry’s value chain. Fashion Business Management students can pick their interest from varied options in the fashion industry—from back-end operations in fashion export houses to front-end operations in the fashion retail sector and e-commerce to online and offline fashion promotions.

The third year emphasises exploring advanced concepts and practical applications across diverse fashion and lifestyle categories. The 4-week Learn On-Site internship is an immersive industry experience designed to accelerate your professional growth. Through hands-on involvement, you will gain a deep understanding of organisational dynamics across merchandising & buying, quality control, forecasting, promotions, market & consumer research, brand management, retail operations and visual merchandising. To broaden your global perspective, an optional LEARN ON International Excursion (4 weeks, Milan | Paris) offers exposure to international fashion capitals, providing insights into global consumer behaviour, retail formats, digital innovation, sustainability and the latest trends in global fashion brands and production facilities.

In the final year, students integrate their knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course. Students may undertake a capstone project, dissertation, or participate in a strategic consultancy project with a fashion brand. The first year of the postgraduate course in Fashion Business Management is an intensive preparatory phase designed to strengthen students' understanding of fashion business operations. They will conduct detailed, in-depth research on an Indian fashion brand, gaining clarity on how the brand’s vision is achieved through a combination of creativity, business acumen and sales and marketing operations. The course emphasises practical projects through which students learn the principles of fashion, merchandise and branding. Their study of the brand extends to its retail model and operations, providing insight into how the brand connects with its customers. Overall, the first year offers a comprehensive overview of the back-end, front-end and business operations essential for running a successful fashion brand. Master's in Fashion Business Management prepares you for a business or management career in the fashion industry by opening up fresh opportunities that raise the professional bar. Sharpen your response to dynamic challenges by devising and implementing fresh management strategies and developing new business ideas. Learn how global brands function by analysing strategies for supply chain, logistics management, retailing, promotions and e-commerce.
The course responsibly expands on sustainable practices and intensive design research. You graduate with a comprehensive CV and diverse portfolio, inclusive of design proposals. As the business climate is shifting to self-employment, we encourage entrepreneurial skills. The culminating capstone project helps students reflect on the cumulative knowledge and skills acquired over the year and how to present proposals to a wider audience, including future employers. Fashion management students can work on a live industry project, propose new business ideas, or devise a business plan in its entirety. They can also pick a subject of interest related to the fashion industry and present a dissertation based on detailed research.

Swati Singh has been a fashion enthusiast for over 20 years now. She completed her Bsc in Textiles from Delhi University in 1999 and thereafter her Masters in Fashion Technology from NIFT Delhi in 2001.
Abhishek Kumar Verma holds a master’s degree in fashion experience and design management (luxury specialisation) from the SDA Bocconi School of Management, Italy, wherein he has worked on various collaborative projects with brands like L'Oreal, Esprit, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Moreschi, Tod's, and Calvin Klein, to name a few.
A visual merchandising professional who has worked for well-known retail brands, including Arvind Brands, Numero UNO Jeanswear, and Puma. He also taught numerous workshops on visual merchandising and retail display to brands and retail professionals, emphasising "experiential learning." He has spent the past ten years working in the fast-paced retail industry.
Gargi is a driven professional with a Bachelor's degree in Hotel & Hospitality Administration from the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, and a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Marketing from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Delhi.
With 9+ years of industry experience, Neha Bohra Singh has worked with Jane Ashley as a fashion designer, Primo Knot as an assistant manager in design, Vishal Mega Mart as a senior buyer, and Snapdeal as a manager of buyer and sourcing. She has completed her Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from Delhi University and her Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion from Pearl Academy of Fashion, New Delhi.

The IIAD Management Aptitude Test (iMAT) is a written test designed to assess an applicant’s language, logical reasoning and creative thinking. The exam paper is a combination of multiple choice questions and writing tasks.
Personal Interview is an opportunity for applicants to have a face to face interaction with the faculty, so that their suitability can be assessed. With this understanding, the faculty can guide the applicant towards how the programme can meet their aspirations and interests.

IIAD provides merit-cum-means scholarships to deserving students. All students who qualify the IIAD Entrance Test are eligible to apply for scholarships. The information about applying for a scholarship will be made available along with the offer of admission.
IIAD is connected with 200+ organizations across the industry for student internships, collaborative projects and placements. IIAD encourages students to explore internship opportunities throughout the duration of their chosen program. At the end of the first year students are encouraged to complete an 8 week internship. In the second year a Career Building Internship of 16 weeks duration is mandatory. Credits are awarded based on work done during the internship. In the final year students work on their Capstone Project, which brings together the learnings of the past three years, and is envisioned as a gateway to the future practice of Fashion Business Management.
