Mr. Sunil Sethi, President of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) is committed towards taking Indian fashion global by promoting the ‘Business of Fashion’ and has been operating for the last 11 years. The FDCI, a nonprofit organization, is the apex fashion council of India that is represented by over 350 designers.

He is also Sr. Vice President, Li & Fung (India), Member Board of Governors, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Member National Apex Committee, National Gallery of Modern Art, Ministry of Culture (2012-2015) ,Director, Board of The Handicrafts and Handloom Exports Corporation of India (HHEC) , Member National Advisory Board for Ministry of Tourism, Director, India Exposition Mart Limited, Greater Noida Expressway. Managing Director, Alliance Merchandising Company and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance. Member Working Group on Handicrafts & Handloom Sector for the 12th Five Year Plan, Appointed by The Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Member Sub-Group on Fashion and Textile Education for the 12th Five Year Plan, Appointed by The Ministry of Textiles, Ex Vice Chairman (2009), All India Handloom Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India.

Mr. Sethi has received the Lifetime Humanitarian Award for outstanding contribution in the world of the differently-abled, Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding contribution to the promotion of Exports by EPCH, Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution to the carpet industry by the Carpet Export Promotion Council

Social Projects and Initiatives are very close to his heart. He is President of “Parivartan a Non Profit Organization founded in 1999, a school situated in Moradabad that provides free Non-formal education to children entrapped in child labour. He is also very closely associated with Tamanna, Khushii, The Earth Foundation and many more non-profit voluntary organisations, created for the purpose of providing help to children and adults with developmental and multiple disabilities, has raised funds through the programme “Floored By Art” – An initiative with Artists and Designers to create Carpets. The last project was done in association with People for Animals for building two charitable hospitals and a fund raiser in aid of various animal welfare activities.
