Who is Eligible to Apply?

Candidates must have passed the CBSE/ISC/IB (or any other equivalent board) 10+2 examination in any discipline. Candidates who have recently appeared for the examination and are awaiting their results may also apply.

Lateral Entry

Lateral entry into the programme (fashion design/communication design/interior architecture & design) is possible for students who have successfully completed the previous year(s) of their design degree/diploma programme from a nationally or internationally recognized Design Institute.
Admission will be based on personal interview and portfolio.
Lateral Entry Application Forms are also available at the Admissions office at the IIAD Campus.

Applicant Evaluation Process

The IIAD follows a TWO-STEP evaluation procedure for admission to its courses. Candidates will have to clear :
1. The IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT)
2. A comprehensive interview and portfolio assessment before our panel of art and design professionals
3. Students applying for Interior Architecture & Design can be exempted from the iDAT written test based on their NATA score. Should they attain the required cut off score they will progress directly for their Portfolio Assessment and Interview.

Scholarship Application Process

IIAD offers scholarships to meritorious students.
Candidates with a 70% aggregate in the CBSE/ ISC/ IB (or any other equivalent board) 10+2 examination in any discipline may apply for scholarship. The final result will depend also on performance in the IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT), personal interview and portfolio review.

What is the iDAT examination?

The iDAT is a mandatory two hours and thirty minutes test for all applicants, and consists of two sections : Section A on Logical Reasoning and Section B on Creative Thinking and Problem Solving. The examination will be administered at prescribed testing centres only.

The IIAD Admission Committee will review each student's aptitude for observation, drawing and design skills, imaginative and creative expression, and visual and communication strengths.

Test papers and answer sheets will be supplied by the IIAD Examination Centre on the day of testing.


Where will the iDAT examinations be held?

iDAT testing will take place at the IIAD Campus in New Delhi (address given below).

IIAD reserves the right to cancel/add/change any entrance test centres(s) for administrative reasons.

iDAT examinees will need to bring :

Pens/Pencils
Dry colours (pencils/pastes)
A ruler
A pen
A gluestick
A small pair of scissors

(Details will be mentioned in the iDAT Exam Admittance Card)

What does the personal interview/ portfolio assessment entail?

Personal interview : The applicant will be evaluated on his/her understanding of basic art and design concepts and industry awareness. Emphasis will be placed on the individual's maturity, confidence and communication skills.

Personal portfolio : Each candidate appearing for a personal interview MUST carry his/her creative portfolio. A quality portfolio carries 50 per cent weightage of the total evaluation at the interview/assessment stage.

Portfolio work can include sketches/drawings, paintings, art collages, needle-work, three-dimensional projects, digital design, web design, graphic design, sculpture and/or photography.

A portfolio need not match professional standards, but must reflect a candidate's interest and aptitude for art and design as well as a flair for visual expression and overall aesthetic sensibility.

How to Apply

Online Applications

Online applicants are required to submit their applications through the IIAD admissions portal www.applytoiiad.com

The online application docket consists of two sections :

The online application fee payment of Rs.1,800/- must be made through credit/debit/netbanking facilities of all major banks. The application fee can also be paid in cash or through a demand draft for Rs.1,800/- in the name of :
Teamwork Education Foundation, Payable at New Delhi
Mention your name, application form number and cell phone/contact number on the back of the demand draft.

The 'Statement of Purpose' essays should be clearly typed, and submitted with the completed application form.

The application form and brochure is also available at select outlets at a fee of Rs.1,800/-. If this fee is paid at the time of purchase from any outlet, the fee need not be paid again at the time of application submission.

Mention your name, application form number and cell phone/contact number on the back of the demand draft. Also, mention your payment details on Page 4 of the application form. Copy of Receipt to be attached.

Applicants seeking scholarships must download and complete the Scholarship Application Form. Please mention your online application form number in the top right hand corner of the scholarship form. The completed application form may either be sent by email to apply@iiad.edu.in or sent to the following address at the earliest.
