Rohin Sher has nearly 15 years of experience in the field of Architecture, Environmental Design and Interior Design. Before choosing to study B.Arch at CEPT University, Ahmedabad, he spent a year learning Building Construction Technology (also at CEPT University) which gave rise to his interest in construction, structure and detailing in design. Rohin did his office training with the well known Goan Architect Dean D'Cruz. While doing his B.Arch, he was selected to go on a 6 months long fully sponsored exchange program to the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur, Switzerland (2006). This became his first opportunity to extensively travel Europe. and witness the diversity in its people, culture and architecture. After coming back to India, he chose to first gain important professional work experience before returning back to college and completing his Bachelors degree. Having developed an interest in environmental issues, Rohin went back to Europe to pursue his Masters in Sustainable Environmental design at the prestigious and influential Architectural Association School of Architecture in London (2009).

In 2011, Rohin founded an environmental consultancy called Adapitektur Ltd. in London. The consultancy provided environmental design advice to Architects, Engineers and Builders, especially the makers of new homes. Some of his clients were PRP Architects, Design-na Architects, LK Partnership, Magnificent Basement Company, Code Consultancy Services Ltd, UK, Kiln, etc. Rohin helped acquire Code for Sustainable Homes UK ("Code Level 4") certification for several projects but his most satisfying effort was the design stage assessment of a "Code Level 6" (Net Zero Carbon equivalent) project in London. Over a one year period, this home required net zero external input of energy for its needs of heating, cooling, ventilation, hot-water, etc. At this point in time, there were only about 30 homes built to this absolute environmental efficiency benchmark in the UK.

In order to be able to apply his years of focussed technical learning (related to environmental aspects in architecture & interiors) to a larger range of projects, Rohin decided to come back to India and joined Morphogenesis in Delhi. He was made a key member of the "Concept Design team". During his time there, Rohin was involved in 22 speculative projects of different scales (high end residences, group housing, offices, malls, universities, intergrated townships, etc). The team's most successful effort was winning a nationally prestigious project for a new 142 Acre, 80,000 sq.m campus for the Indian IT Giant Infosys in Nagpur. This brought the firm one of its biggest commissions until that point.

Since then through his own design practice "StudioSher", Rohin has been responsible for the design / execution of 35 architectural & interior design projects mostly in Gujarat and the NCR. Most interesting of these is a proposed 2,50,000 Sq.ft Pharmaceutical Factory in Vasad, an ongoing 11000 Sq.ft residence in Noida, a 5500 Sq.ft high end residential refurbishments in Kalkaji, a 1200 Sq.ft Optical retail showroom in Ahmedabad, a 750 Sq.ft hospitality company's corporate office near Connaught Place, etc. His interests lie in the architectural expression of environmental control systems and in exploring the effect of design choices (such as the choice of materials) in minimise energy usage within the building sector. Rohin loves visiting and sketching interesting and historically significant buildings and has extensively travelled across India, Nepal, UK, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Turkey, etc. He is currently based in New Delhi, where lives and works.

Apart from being the Course Leader at IAD, some of his experience as an academician include being a Juror for the Industrial Design Trophy for the Zonal NASA Convention, in Surat. He is also an external juror at the ITM University, Gwalior. He conducted a 5 day workshop on environmental design at the 58th NASA India convention in Surat and a workshop in Environmental design at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara. Apart from his association with the IIAD, Rohin has a nearly 4 year long ongoing relationship as a consultant faculty in the interior architecture department at Pearl Academy Noida.
