Pranay Mangrati has been a multi-disciplinary design practitioner, having graduated in Accessory Design from National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi. He has worked with the horological industry, primarily analog & digital watches, besides packaging & branding. He started his career as a designer in Premier Watch Industries, & moved on to Hong Kong as the Senior Designer for Pala International, HK. He was also associated with Timera International in Hong Kong, as the Design Manager. He started the design studio Prafound in 2012, which now provides design consultancy to the watch industry in the international market, besides making reclaimed wooden products & accessories. His interests are varied & that can be witnessed from the wide array of products that he has dabbled in, from award winning costume jewelry to leather bags & accessories.
He was associated with Product Design in Pearl Academy earlier before he joined IIAD. Here he will be engaging with and mentoring the students pursuing Foundation Year Programme. To him, “learning” plays a very crucial role in everyone’s lives and we should earnestly strive to learn, make mistakes and relearn, irrespective of how old or young we are.
