Akanksha Maglani

Akanksha Maglani has completed her Bachelor in Architecture from University School of Architecture and Planning, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University with a specialisation in urban planning and research. She also holds and International Masters in Interior Architecture and Design from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. As an exchange fellow during her post graduation she worked extensively on projects centred on Turkish Cafes (Istanbul) where she got the opportunity to travel and learn from her experiences.

During her professional career as an Architect, Akanksha was associated with DRONAH (Development and Research Organisation for Nature, Arts and Heritage), Gurgaon where she worked on a range of adaptive reuse projects, museum design proposals and renovation projects. Some notable ones included restoration of wall paintings at Golden Temple (Amritsar), museum design proposals for the Bengal Engineering Group and Centre Museum at Roorkee and adaptive restoration of Jaleb Chowk, Jaipur. She has also been actively involved with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for planning of local areas.

While working with Matrika Design Collaborative, she offered her expertise in museum design projects like Bronze Gallery and drafted the preliminary project report and presentation for the Manuscript Gallery at National Museum, Delhi. In addition to this, she worked with an NGO, Disability Research and Design Foundation, where she focused on making public spaces disable-friendly across the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra.

At present she is serving as a Curatorial Fellow with Curatorial Intensive South Asia (CISA), an initiative by Max Mueller Bhavan, Delhi, and Khoj International Artists’ Association. At IIAD, she would be engaging with and mentoring students pursuing their Interior Architecture and Design programme.
