A strategic thinker and an eco-friendly designer, Ms. Shipra Kukreja is best known in the industry for sustainable fashion and ethical design practices in her professional endeavours. In addition to being a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) alumna, she also holds a masters degree in fashion design from Nottingham Trent University, UK.
Ms. Shipra is currently the creative head and co-founder of Posse Esse baby boutique, an organic baby accessory brand, promoting the use of chemical free and natural materials for products created by the Baby Boutique. Not only that, she is also a successful fashion consultant to various domestic as well as overseas retailers.
She has been a proud recipient of the prestigious Charles Wallace India Trust Grant in 2009 for her project on up-cycling Indian sarees as a means of sustainability and restoring Indian hand woven fabrics and dying craft. She was honoured for her extensive research on sustainability in the fashion industry at a global level.
With an experience of over 15 years, Ms. Shipra has donned various hats in the industry. She has worked as a senior designer with RTW, an e-commerce brand retailing in the US as well as a product manager at an upscale importer for high street stores in the UK. She has headed a team of designers and trend analysts and has also worked on many independent consultancy projects.
When not designing, she likes to read and travel, which adds to her exposure and helps her progress as a fashion design professional. She strives to impart her industry experience in teaching by active involvement in student projects thus enabling hands-on learning along with constant mentoring.
